Three people have been seriously injured in a passenger van incident in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The Phuket Express reports that a minivan crashed in the district of Thung Song, with a roadside guardrail subsequently piercing the vehicle.
The incident happened yesterday morning, May 4, on the Asia Nakhon Si – Bangkok Road, in the sub-district of Cha Mai. Police and rescue workers arrived on the scene to find a guardrail had penetrated the left-hand side of the minivan.
Three people had sustained serious injuries. The injured, 2 men and 1 woman, are all Burmese nationals.
According to the Phuket Express report, the woman’s leg had been fully severed by the collision and was found outside the vehicle. The unidentified injured were all taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Thung Song Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident before deciding whether or not to pursue legal action.
