A container carrying 25 tonnes of frozen chicken has parted company with the truck it was loaded on to, plunging from an elevated motorway to the road below. The incident happened in the eastern province of Chachoengsao and fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

According to a Nation Thailand report, the incident happened at around 8am on Sunday, January 21, on the Bangkok to Pattaya motorway in the district of Bang Pakong. It’s understood the truck driver, 23 year old Natthadanai Charamsri, was attempting to exit the motorway at the time.

Police say that as the exit he was taking was elevated, the driver accelerated from the motorway in order for the heavy trailer to be able to make the climb. However, it appears he then lost control of the vehicle, hitting a bridge guard rail.

This caused the container to detach from the truck and plunge onto the road below. There were no vehicles passing below at the time. The truck itself also overturned, with the driver and his girlfriend sustaining minor injuries, according to police.
