Khaosod Online

Two men have died after the motorbike sidecars they were driving collided with a truck in the northern Phuket district of Thalang. According to a Phuket Express report, the accident happened yesterday afternoon on the Mueang Mai – Pa Khlok Road in the sub-district of Thep Kasattri.

Thalang Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene to find a damaged truck which had left the road, along with two damaged motorbike sidecars.

Somyos Sawasdee, the 55 old driver of one of the motorbike sidecars, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other motorbike sidecar, Anuwat Aramraksaeree, was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup truck, 33 year old Tossawan Boonyanit says the dash cam in her truck has captured the entire incident. According to Ms Tossawan, one motorbike sidecar, in the opposite lane, was trying to overtake the other.

Both motorbike sidecars ended up colliding with each other and her truck. Ms Tossawan says she did not cause the accident and that her dashcam footage will show this.

It’s understood Thalang Police plan to review the footage as part of their investigation.
