A physical fight broke out between para-sail operators at Phuket’s Karon Beach, and a group of Indian tourists.
The incident happened yesterday, August 12, with footage shared by an unnamed social media page.
The post was captioned, “#Clashing! Brawl on Karon Beach in Phuket. A group of Indian tourists clashed with what appears to be local umbrella vendors, possibly due to a “misunderstanding”. #SeaBoxing #Phuket.”
Sources have informed Phuket-GO that the disagreement was over payment for a para-sailing ride. Para-sailing rides usually cost 2,000 baht+ and last for only 2 minutes with many customers often complaining on social media that the rides are just a rip-off.

A screenshot of the video shows a group of Indian tourists in a physical fight with beach umbrella operators and the para-sailing vendor. One of the operators can be seen throwing punches at the tourists.
The social media post has gone viral and attracted the usual slew of comments from netizens. Some have criticised the Thai government’s decision to grant visa-free entry to Indian tourists, saying this has impacted the “quality” of visitor arriving.
The Phuket News reports that Karon Police have confirmed that so far, neither side has filed a complaint in relation to the incident.
