A foreign motorbike rider has died following a collision with an ambulance in Phuket.
The incident happened before noon yesterday, September 5, in Chalong. A Phuket Express report mentions that the bike rider was critically injured, however, a Thai language media outlet reports that the man has since died.
Police and rescue workers arrived on the scene on Chao Fah East Road, near the Pa Lai Intersection, to find a motorbike and an ambulance, both damaged, in the road. The bike rider was lying nearby, unconscious and bleeding heavily from his face. Paramedics from the ambulance had attempted CPR but confirmed the man had no pulse.
The bike rider was rushed to Chalong Hospital, where it was later confirmed he had died. His name and nationality have not been confirmed by the authorities, nor have they confirmed what caused the accident.
