A second landslide in Phuket has damaged 8 more houses, but no injuries were reported so far. The landslide occurred yesterday morning, August 28, in the Rassada sub-district near Phuket Town.
Eight homes in the Thep Buri housing estate were damaged, but with residents safely evacuated, nobody was injured.
The site was later inspected by Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat, accompanied by Worasit Putjeep, Phuket Town district chief, and Nakarin Yorsangrat, mayor of Rassada.

According to a Phuket Express report, the governor remarked that several hours of heavy rainfall in the area had softened the soil, triggering the landslide. The damage to homes was mainly at the rear of the properties. The affected area has been cordoned off by the authorities.
Meanwhile, further north, in Kamala on the same morning, a small landslip covered a private driveway and brought trees down onto power lines, the Phuket News reports.
Motorists were advised to proceed cautiously through the area, with officers sealing off one lane to allow the Provincial Electricity Authority to remove the trees and restore power to the area.
