Police have arrested a 33 year old Pakistani Mr. Yasir and 38 year old Thai Ms. Khadija Yasir, in connection with the murder of an Indian man, Mr. Poulose. The arrests were made in Kok Kloi in Phang Nga on Saturday, May 18.
The suspects allegedly murdered Mr. Poulose near a road to the east of Kok Koi township, on May 15. The victim was shot in the back of the head.
Police raided the suspects’ residence in Phang Nga Province seized a number of items as evidence… a CZ handgun, ammunition and a white Toyota Vios. The two suspects were charged with premeditated murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and carrying weapons in public places without permission.
Mr. Poulose had originally arrived in Thailand on April 19 and stayed at a condominium near Phuket Town. Police say he was living with the suspects at that time. But the trio headed to Phang Nga province on May 14, according to evidence from CCTV.
Police believe that the motive could have been an argument between Mr. Poulose and Mr. Yasir over a failed business deal. The three drove to the area off the main road, where Mr. Yasir is alleged to have shot Mr. Poulose. They then took the body to a house in nearby Khok Kloi to clean the car and destroy evidence, including trying to hide the alleged murder weapon.
Both suspects currently deny the charges, but police say they have plenty of evidence to bring charges. The investigation continues.
