Just as the island finishes up much of the mopping up after the deluges nearly 2 weeks ago, some locations have suffered more flooding today – Cherngtalay, parts of Thalang and Patong.
Most of the heavy rains fell between 12.30 and 1.3opm. The storms were quite isolated and have been slowly east to west across the island.

Today’s forecast included the possibility of isolated rain storms.
The road outside Go Fresh and Blue Tree in Cherngtalay has become a common flooding problem this year.
The road fronting Patong Hospital and Patong Police Station is also a regular target when heavy rains hit the area.
The current rain in the Patong area will be concerning officials who, just yesterday, started their temporary repair work for the damaged Patong Hill road. Last Wednesday a 50 metre section of the road was severely damaged after a lane collapsed down the hill and underlying foundation soil vanished along with the section of the road.
