As Phuket Airport adapts to new schedules, challenges and passenger demands, it’s opened a new section, just for tour groups.
The Phuket International Airport has opened a dedicated departure area for international tour groups. The new area, called “International Departures for Group Tour” is on the first floor of the International terminal, according to a statement from airport bosses.
It’s understood the new space has been created to alleviate congestion in the increasingly busy airport, which has also announced plans for a new terminal. It opened yesterday, June 5, serving 5 airlines initially.

The area currently has 16 check-in counters, a flight information display, a baggage conveyor system, information desks, passenger waiting areas, and a VAT refund point.
