An ambulance responding to an emergency narrowly avoided toppling over after a taxi drove into it at an intersection in Phuket. The Phuket Express reports that the incident happened in the Mueang district on Friday afternoon, April 28, and was captured on CCTV.
According to the report, the taxi collided with the ambulance at around 3.00pm by the Darasamut intersection, in the Wichit sub-district. Police and rescue workers arrived to find both vehicles damaged in the collision.

Both the ambulance driver, named only as 37 year old Eakkaluck, and his unnamed 34 year old patient, had sustained several injuries in the accident. The taxi driver, named only as Suppachai, was uninjured.
According to Eakkaluck, he had his emergency lights flashing and was sounding his warning siren when he drove through a red light at the intersection before colliding with the taxi. Footage of the incident shows the ambulance coming very close to overturning before the vehicle rights itself.
Wichit Police have launched an investigation to determine if legal action is required.
