A Phuket minivan driver has been fined 2,000 baht and had his licence suspended for 90 days after he was seen playing games on his phone while driving. According to a Phuket Express report, the driver was transporting 7 passengers at the time – 6 foreign tourists and 1 Thai national.
The incident happened on Monday morning, February 13, as the driver was transporting his passengers from Rassada Pier in Phuket Town to Patong. A passenger who noticed him playing games on his phone while driving decided to film him. The clip subsequently went viral on social media.

The chief of the Phuket Land Transport Office, Atcha Buajan, says officials were quickly able to identify the driver. He was summoned to a meeting with the authorities on the same day as the incident took place. His name and age have not been released, but Atcha confirmed the man has been fined 2,000 baht and his licence has been suspended for 90 days.
According to the report, the driver has admitted he was using his phone to play a game called Slots while driving. However, he claims he has never done this before. How incredibly unlucky to be caught on the one occasion he did!
