Patong Police have arrested 2 motorbike taxi drivers, following last week’s violent assault on a Kuwaiti tourist.

The incident took place just before 7.20am Tuesday, August 13, with 32 year old Naeaaf Al Otajbi reportedly left unconscious after 2 men attacked him as he was walking back to his accommodation.

A passerby who witnessed the attack notified Patong Police Station, who subsequently arrested the two drivers.

Young Kuwaitis are a common sight in Thailand at this time of the year, particularly in the party towns of Pattaya and Patong.

When questioned by officers, the suspects said the Kuwaiti man was “drunk and had verbally abused some Thai people” angering the taxi drivers.

The Phuket Express reports that both men have been charged with bodily assault. However, police have declined to identify either perpetrator.
