A young Polish woman has died after seemingly losing control while riding her motorbike and sliding under a truck. The incident happened yesterday, May 4, in Chalong.
Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene on Chao Fah West Road, in front of a Chalong housing estate, to find the woman’s damaged motorbike in the road. Nearby, they found the woman’s body, which had been badly crushed, along with the helmet she’d been wearing.
The Phuket Express reports that CCTV footage shows the 33 year old woman riding her motorbike to the left of a trailer truck. From the footage, it seems she attempted to overtake the vehicle on the inside, before losing control of her bike and sliding under the truck.
The woman’s name has been withheld until her embassy and family have been notified.
The 49 year old truck driver, named as Boonnah Pinnarat, was uninjured in the accident and was waiting for police at the scene.
