A house in the sub-district of Rassada, in Phuket’s east coast, has been destroyed in a fire that broke out yesterday evening. According to a Phuket Express report, firefighters were alerted to the blaze at a property on Soi King Kaew, off Rassada Nusorn Road, at around 6.45pm.

Three fire engines were dispatched from Rassada Municipality to the location, which is near a mangrove forest. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the wooden house fully ablaze. According to the report, it took around half an hour to bring the fire under control.

Reports on social media say the house was occupied by a couple and their son. The family are believed to be currently receiving assistance from the community and local officials. There have been no reports of casualties and damages have been estimated at around 50,000 baht. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the blaze.
