Two Singaporean tourists and a Phuket security guard have all ended up in hospital after a fight.
It’s understood a heated verbal dispute turned physical at the Patong Bay Residence hotel in the early hours of Thursday, August 15, according to the Phuket News.
The tourists involved have been named as 21 year old Clifton Lau and 22 year old Nigel Tey. The hotel security guard has been named as Suphawut Chaladchalam.
Patong Police were alerted to a fight in the hotel at around 4.45am. They arrived on the scene to find all 3 men injured, with blood on their faces and clothes.
According to the report, Suphawut told police the Singaporeans were attempting to leave the hotel without going through the checkout procedures that would confirm any outstanding bills.
He says he intervened to ask them to return to the reception area to complete the process, at which point, he says one of the Singaporeans punched him and threw a bottle at his back. The security guard admits he retaliated by punching both men a number of times.
All 3 were taken to Patong Hospital for treatment. The police investigation is ongoing.
