Heavy and even continuous rain has been forecast for much of Thailand over the next four days. Residents in flood-prone areas are being warned of flash floods in several provinces.
The Thai Meteorological Department says that isolated heavy to very heavy rains are possible across the country until next Tuesday. Bangkok and central provinces will also be affected.
“People should beware of severe conditions that may cause flash floods and runoffs, especially along waterways near foothills and lowlands”.
People taking to the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand have also been warned of potential sudden storms and waves up to 2 metres in height.
“Ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers”.
