Bangla Road Patong in Phuket

A Swedish tourist has been injured after falling from the second floor of his hotel in Patong, according to the Phuket Express. Patong Police were notified of the incident on Monday evening, at a hotel on Sawatdirak Road.

Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene and found 64 year old Bo Peter Svensson with a number of injuries. He was transferred to a local hospital for treatment.

It’s understood that Mr Swensson had checked in to the hotel during that day. The owner, Supaphon Wachirawarkan, says her staff alleged “he was drunk at the time”. Ms Supaphon heard something fall shortly after and then realised it was the Swedish guest.

According to the Phuket Express report, there were no signs of a disturbance in the man’s room, but bottles of alcohol were found scattered around the room. Mr Svensson has yet to give his version of events, but at this stage, police are treating his fall as an accident.
