The Royal Thai Navy has rescued 143 tourists who were stranded on Koh Racha, off the south west coast of Phuket, yesterday, September 18. 127 were Chinese tourists.
Many boat and ferry services, including to Phi Phi, are currently suspended until the weather improves. Check out the daily weather HERE.
The tourists got stuck on Racha Yai, a popular snorkelling and scuba diving spot (albeit when conditions are more favourable), as dangerous seas prevented their tour boat from returning the travellers back to Phuket.

According to a Navy spokesperson, waves at the time were up to 4 metres in height. A large Navy vessel was dispatched to take the 143 tourists back to Phuket’s Deep Sea Port where they were taken back to their accommodation.
