Vietjet resumes Ho Chi Minh City to Phuket route

Vietjet has relaunched its route between Ho Chi Minh City and Phuket, the first airline to resume flights between the southern island and the Vietnamese city. According to a TTR Weekly report, the airline offers 4 weekly return flights, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The flight departs Phuket at 12.00, arriving in Ho Chi Minh at 13.50. From Ho Chi Minh, the flight takes off at 09.00, arriving on Phuket at 11.00. The carrier is currently offering promotional fares on its website and mobile app, during what it calls the “golden hour” between 13.00 and 14.00.

Earlier this year, Vietjet resumed services between Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Danang. The airline currently has the largest flight capacity between Vietnam and Thailand and is expected to resume flights between Ho Chi Minh and Chiang Mai from September, operating 3 weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Last month, Vietnam dropped all testing requirements for international arrivals, vaccinated or not, from May 15. It means Vietnam is the first country in the Asia-Pacific region to fully re- open to international travellers.
