Thailand and Phuket hotel operators are pointing to high inflation around the world as a reason for low tourist numbers and a lack of spending by the ones that are already here. The hospitality sector’s faith in Phuket’s tourism industry was in evidence last week with the opening of the latest Radisson property on the island. Thailand’s Supreme Court has ordered the Royal Forest Department to rehabilitate Krabi’s Maya Bay.

Tourism numbers keep growing, but not quite at the rate everyone was hoping for. The Phuket Provincial Court has ordered restaurants and bars on Layan Beach to demolish and vacate their businesses
