Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport to offer free parking for Father’s Day weekend

Parking will be free at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport this weekend, to mark Father’s Day and the anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (Rama IX). No similar offer has been made at Phuket’s airport.

On Monday, December 5, Thailand will celebrate Father’s Day, with Bangkok airport bosses confirming parking will be free in Zone C of Suvarnabhumi from December 2 – 6. The free parking is being offered in order to boost travel and tourism over the 3-day holiday weekend.

The airport operator Airports of Thailand has confirmed parking fees will be waived in Zone C, which can accommodate up to 718 vehicles in its long-stay area. It’s hoped this will reduce travel costs for air passengers and encourage more people to travel.

Suvarnabhumi is also offering a free shuttle service that will transfer people from the car park to the passenger terminals at Gates 3 and 8 on Level 1. Shuttle buses will depart every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, over the long weekend.

Airport bosses are expecting a high number of passengers over the weekend and are advising people to arrive at least 3 hours ahead of departure for international flights and 2 hours for domestic.
