Phuket rescue workers have found two Russian tourists who ended up lost while exploring Sirinat National Park in the north of the island on the west coast. 37 year old Alexandr Simakov and 40 year old Ekaterina Simakov got lost on Sai Koo Mountain in the sub-district of Sakoo, while exploring the national park.

According to a Phuket Express report, Sorasak Rananan, head of Sirinat National Park, says the Phuket Tourist Police received a call from the tourists on Tuesday night, who said they were unable to find their way out of the jungle.

A search party was dispatched (although not until after midnight, according to the report) and both Russians were found some time after. The tourists were taken to a nearby hospital to be checked over but appeared to only have some minor injuries to their feet. They have expressed their gratitude to their rescuers.
