An Israeli woman has sustained minor injuries after the minivan in which she was travelling overturned in Phuket. It’s understood it was raining at the time of the incident up near the airport.
The Phuket Express reports that the tourist, named only as 28 year old Ms Rowan, from Israel, was injured when the minivan overturned near the underpass on Thepkasattri Road, about 3 kilometres from the Phuket Airport.
The incident happened around midday yesterday, June 20, as the van was travelling northbound on Thepkrasattri Road. Emergency workers arrived at the scene to find the minivan on its side in the road.
The driver, named as Ongart Thongiam, has blamed the conditions at the time of the accident, saying the road was slippery from the rain, causing him to lose control of the minivan, which then crashed into a power pole and overturned.
Police have launched an investigation.
