Seven Thai tourists have been rescued after a longtail boat capsized near Ao Nang, in Krabi on Phang Nga Bay.
The Phuket Express reports that the incident happened about 300 metres from Koh Hong, while the tourists were on a fishing trip. Officials from Than Bok Khorani National Park alerted Ao Nang Police to the capsize of a boat carrying 9 people.
Earlier media reports claimed the tourists were Chinese, but it has been confirmed they were all Thai tourists, except for two Thai members of the crew.

It’s understood the longtail boat was struck by large waves, which caused it to capsize. Everyone on board was rescued by another fishing vessel and there were no injuries reported.
Longtail boats are notoriously unstable when waves start battering the boat from one side or the other.
The authorities have not released the names of the captain and his crew member and it is not known if any legal action will be taken against them.
