A Swedish man has been found dead inside a tent at Ao Nang Beach in Krabi province. Police in Ao Nang say they were notified of the finding on Tuesday and arrived on the scene with rescue workers.

The man, named as 60 year old Ricky Norbeck, is believed to have died at least 2 days before his body was discovered. According to police, there were no signs of a struggle or any kind of altercation in the tent. Police found empty beer bottles and beer cans both inside and outside the tent.

According to a Phuket Express report, locals say the Swedish man had been sleeping in his tent alone since March 3. He was last seen on March 5, when he visited a nearby shop to buy some beer.

Police found very few personal possessions inside the tent but it’s understood Mr Norbeck had posted on Facebook before he died, saying a wild monkey had taken his belongings. The man’s visa status has not been disclosed and the reason why he was sleeping in the tent is unknown.
