Five people have been injured after a minivan travelling from Hat Yai to Krabi crashed in the southern province of Phatthalung. Three foreign tourists were among the injured, according to a Phuket Express report.
The collision happened on Tuesday afternoon, June 13, on the Petchkasem Road, between Phatthalung and the neighbouring province of Trang. Emergency workers arrived at the scene to find a badly-damaged minivan that had smashed into a roadside power pole.

Three foreigners and two Thai nationals had been injured and were taken to hospital for treatment. Their names have not been released to the media.
The Phuket Express reports that the 38 year old driver, named as Sakkarin Ruengsitiwutthikun, told Thai media that he transporting his passengers from Hat Yai to Krabi when he fell asleep at the wheel.
Sri Nakarin Police have launched an investigation into the accident to determine what charges the driver may face.
