Horrendous collision between pickup trucks in Krabi kills at least 5, more injured

At least 5 people have died and another 5 have been criticallyinjured after two pickup trucks collided in Krabi. According to a Phuket Express report, the accident happened yesterday on Petchkasem Road, in the Krabi sub-district of Tap Prik.

Emergency workers arrived to find two badly damaged pickup trucks that had left the road. Five people were pronounced dead at the scene and another five were seriously injured. All ten are Thai nationals. The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital.

According to the report, one of the pickup trucks, a Mitsubishi, was transporting 8 men, understood to be shrimp catchers. Five of them have been killed, three of whom were in the cab of the truck and two who were in the back of the pickup truck bed. Three others are seriously injured.

Another two people in the second truck, an Isuzu, have sustained serious injuries. It’s understood the truck was travelling to Krabi from the central province of Kampaeng Phet.
