Police report that cases against alleged serial killer Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, aka. ‘Am Cyanide’, will be presented to prosecutors on Friday. Thailand’s deputy police chief Surachate Hakparn has been overseeing the investigation into 15 cases of alleged cyanide poisoning linked to Sararat.
He was speaking at the Correctional Institution for Women in Bangkok, where Sararat is being held since her arrest on April 25. During his visit, the deputy national police chief filed additional charges against Sararat.
According to a Bangkok Post report, the alleged serial killer faces similar charges in each case, including premeditated murder, poisoning, forgery, and theft, and Surachate says there is strong evidence to back up the charges in each case.
Investigators are also preparing to present cases against Sararat’s ex-husband, Withoon Rangsiwuthaporn, a former police officer, and her lawyer, Thanicha Aeksuwannawat.
Withoon has been charged with receiving stolen goods, forgery and using forged official documents. Thanicha has been charged with helping her client to dispose of, or conceal, evidence of a crime.
Sararat’s alleged crimes came to light after the mother and sister of one alleged victim, 32 year old Siriporn “Koy” Khanwong filed a police report.
Investigators say most victims were owed a lot of money by Sararat, after they had invested in various schemes run by her. Each of the victims was also confirmed to have been in her company shortly before they died.
