Thai Airways is integrating its subsidiary, Thai Smile, as part of the restructuring process being undertaken by the flagship carrier. Thai Airways will now operate 9 domestic routes previously served by Thai Smile. The flights will all operate under a TG flight number, with Thai Smile’s WE code being retired.

The integration has been going on since the start of this year when the merger was announced.

Nation Thailand reports that Thai Airways will operate the 9 domestic routes using Airbus A320 aircraft, starting next month.

From December 1, the carrier will operate 56 flights a week between Bangkok and Phuket, 35 flights a week between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and 21 flights a week between Bangkok and Udon Thani.

From January, Thai Airways will operate 28 flights a week between Bangkok and Khon Kaen, 14 flights a week between Bangkok and Ubon Ratchathani, 14 flights a week between Bangkok and Krabi, 21 flights a week between Bangkok and Hat Yai, and 7 flights a week between Bangkok and Narathiwat.

The national carrier also plans to transfer 20 Airbus A320 aircraft from Thai Smile into its fleet, a process that’s expected to be complete by January, according to CEO Chai Eamsiri.

All Thai Smile employees, including pilots and crew, will become part of Thai Airways.
