Five foreign tourists have been rescued, along with their guide and boat driver, after a tour boat capsized in Phang Nga. The tourists, all from the Philippines, were exploring the waters around Phang Nga yesterday, when their boat capsized in rough seas.
According to a Phuket Express report, Natthawat Nuisringam, chief of Phang Nga Bay National Park, says the longtail boat was around a kilometre from Baan Sam Chong when it sank.
Rescue workers arrived at the scene to find all passengers and crew wearing life jackets while floating in the sea near the stricken boat.

The boat driver, who has not been named, says his longtail was hit by strong waves, which caused it to capsize. All passengers and crew members were safely returned to dry land and there were no injuries reported.
The incident comes a week after a Phuket speedboat driver collided with a channel marker in Chalong Bay, injuring 35 people, most of them foreign tourists.
