Flood relief effort launched by Phuket Hotels Association – you can help

A coordinated effort from the Phuket Hotels Association has started today, October 18, to help all the people who have been heavily impacted by the flooding in Phuket. Torrential rains have caused massive flood problems in numerous sections of the island cutting off up to 60 communities with floodwaters up to a metre, and more in places.

Starting today 100 meals have been donated from the Tourism Safety and Security Conference which is an event organised by the PHA, along with the British Embassy Bangkok and the Australian Consulate General Phuket, happening at the Saii Hotel.

The Thailand Red Coss have also donated 100 packs of water. Different drop off points have been set up around the island for anyone to drop off donations. Things like food, life bags, water, bedding and clothes are being sought at this time.

Here are the drop-off points. PLEASE NOTE: Drop off before 10am on Thursday please.
