A British man wanted in connection with alleged sexual assault of a minor in Phuket has been arrested in Chiang Mai. According to a Phuket Express report, at the time of the offence, the man worked as a teacher in an international school where the 16 year old girl was a student.
It’s understood the arrest relates to two separate occasions during the period 2014 – 2015. The 38 year old Briton, named only as Mr Taylor, is accused of taking the girl away from her parents and sexually molesting her at a property in Chalong on December 6, 2014 and again in April 2015.
When the girls’ parents and the school discovered what had happened, Mr Taylor’s teaching contract was terminated. The girls’ parents also filed a complaint with Chalong Police.
What’s not clear is why it has taken so long to arrest Mr Taylor, who has been living in Chiang Mai since 2016, according to the report. He was arrested this week in the Mueang district, under an arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court on January 12.
He has been taken to Chalong Police Station for legal processing.
