Burmese man in custody following theft of motorbikes in Phuket

A Burmese national has been arrested in Phuket, in relation to the theft of “many” motorbikes on the island.

The Phuket Express reports that 32 year old Nyinyi Htwe from Myanmar was arrested in Karon on Sunday, February 4. Karon Police detained the man under an arrest warrant issued by Phuket Provincial Court last August.

The suspect remains in custody, accused of stealing many motorbikes at night.

According to the report, he has admitted to the charges, saying he would take the bikes after riders left the keys in the ignition. It’s understood he has also admitted to stealing motorbikes in the neighbouring province of Phang Nga.
