Bus overturns in northern Phuket, 17 tourists injured on way to Phang Nga

There’s been another bus crash, this time in Phuket. 17 Chinese tourists have been injured in this latest incident, 2 remain in serious condition.

The bus lost control at a road curve this morning at 8.10am in the Thalang District, to the north of the island and just past the airport in the Mai Khao sub District.

The bus was heading from Phuket to Thap Lamu Pier in Phang Nga, to board a boat for a trip to the Similan Islands. Thap Lamu is about 40 minutes north of the bridge from Phuket to the mainland.

Attending police assume that the bus driver lost control while driving too fast to negotiate the curve on Thep Kasatrri Road.

All 17 tourists were taken to the Thalang Hospital.
