An Australian woman who lost her temper over not being given a window seat was removed from a Phuket to Sydney flight before the plane got off the ground. According to several media reports, the woman became “disruptive and unruly” after boarding the Jetstar flight, complaining that she had not been allocated a window seat.
We can’t confirm if her name was ‘Karen’ or not.
Flight JQ28 was due to depart from Phuket for Sydney when the irate woman kicked off. She is reported to have hurled abuse at fellow passengers and crew when she realised she had been given an aisle seat. A spokesperson for Jetstar confirmed the woman was removed from the flight by Phuket Airport security staff.
“An unruly passenger was escorted off our flight prior to take off in Phuket after becoming disruptive and using abusive and inappropriate language towards other customers and our team members.”
Airport security officials in Phuket were called and the passenger was escorted off the flight.
“We take safety and security very seriously and this type of behaviour will not be tolerated on our aircraft.”
Social media footage of the incident shows the entire plane cheering as security personnel arrive on board and the woman is removed.
PHUKET-GO ADVICE:
Window seats can be selected as an optional extra cost during booking or, if you arrive early for checking in, you can request allocation of a window seat at the check in staff’s discretion.
