A foreign man has sustained serious injuries after the pickup truck he was driving slammed into a power pole in Phuket. According to a report from the Phuket Express, the incident occurred yesterday afternoon, July 3, on the Phra Phuket Kaew Road, in the Kathu district.
Rescue workers arrived on the scene to find a power pole embedded in the front of a badly damaged truck on the central reservation. The driver has been named as 48 year old Craig Bradley Shantz of unknown nationality. It’s understood Mr Shantz suffered a serious chest injury and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Kathu Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
