A family of tourists from Saudi Arabia have sustained “slight injuries” following an off-road go-karting collision in Phuket. According to a Bangkok Post report, the 3 adults and 1 child were riding a go-kart that crashed into a power pole in the Muang district yesterday afternoon. The unregistered off-road vehicles, also known as ATVs (all terrain vehicles) or quad-bikes are a popular rental around selected hills and areas of Phuket.
It’s understood the group was on the four-seater off-road go-kart and travelling uphill to the Khao Nak Kerd peak, when the kart left the road and hit a power pole opposite the Tiger Park, in the sub-district of Chalong. One of the adults, understood to be a 43 year old woman, complained of chest and back pains. All 4 were taken to Chalong Hospital for medical examination.
