A 34 year old Russian woman has been arrested in the departures section at the Phuket International terminal, according to a Phuket Express report.
On Sunday, November 26, at around 11.40pm, an unnamed Russian woman was detained by Immigration Police and the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau. She faces charges of fraud and “importing false information into computer systems”.
According to the report, the latter charge refers to the allegation that the woman pretended be someone else, thereby entering false information into a computer system. She has been taken into custody to face legal processing at the Cyber Crime Investigation Station.
Police declined to name the woman and have not provided any more details as to the nature of the alleged fraud.
