The leader of the Move Forward Party, and Thailand’s prime ministerial candidate, is in Phuket today, according to a Phuket News report. Pita Limjaroenrat has confirmed on his Facebook page that he’s planning a brief visit to the island province, where all 3 constituencies were won by the Move Forward Party in the May 14 general election.
The Move Forward winning candidates have also announced Pita’s visit on the Phuket Info Centre page, linked to the Phuket office of the Interior Ministry. According to the Phuket News report, the following is the itinerary for Pita’s visit, which the MFP leader has described as a “public gratitude schedule”:
– 12.00: Public event at the stadium in front of the Kathu District Office on Vichitsongkram Road
– 5.00pm: Meet and greet with supporters at Chillva Market on Yaowarat Road
All MFP supporters have been invited to attend both events, although the capacity at either venue has not been confirmed, nor is it know if pre-registration is required. There has also been no announcements in relation to parking, the Phuket News notes.
It’s understood that Pita also plans to meet with local business representatives and other sectors during an event hosted at Deevana Plaza Phuket, in Patong. However, the Phuket Info Centre has not confirmed the timing of this event and Pita’s social media post did not refer to it.
The Move Forward Party had a clean sweep in Phuket on May 14, with Somchart Techathavorncharoen, Chalermpong Saengdeem, and Thitikan Thitipruekthikul taking all 3 constituencies. Once sworn in, the 3 will officially become MPs.
