Patong police arrest 2 Russians for spraying graffiti

Police in Phuket have arrested 2 Russian men for spraying graffiti in Patong. Both men are blaming cannabis for their indiscretion.

The men were arrested on Monday, March 25, after witnesses saw them spraying graffiti on a footpath and restaurant sign on Patong’s Phra Baramee Road. It’s understood the incident happened on Saturday, March 23, at around 9pm. The men sprayed the letters “HRDSRT” before fleeing the scene.

Investigating officers were able to use CCTV footage of the area to track the men to their apartment on Thaweewogn Road in Patong. They were arrested and have been charged with vandalism.

The men have been named as 23 year old Mr. Evgenii and 22 year old Mr. Oleg. It’s understood they have admitted to an act of vandalism, but blamed cannabis consumption. Both men have apologised for their actions but it’s understood they will face legal action.
