A drunk American man has been arrested in Phuket after damaging a car window with a rock.
The Phuket Express reports that the man, named only as 46 year old “Mr Denny”, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday, April 11. His arrest came after 33 year old Tharathit Na Phatthalung notified Wichit Police that a drunk foreigner had hit his car window with a rock, causing damage.
Police arrived at the scene to find a damaged sedan with traces of blood, and a drunk and barefoot American nearby. He was arrested and taken to Wichit Police Station.

According to the report, the American told officers that a friend of his had left his mobile phone in the car and he had used a rock to try to break the window and retrieve it. However, Tharathit says he does not know the American.
The police say they believe Denny had “lost control” of his mind, saying he showed signs of confusion and paranoia while being questioned. He has been charged with damaging another person’s property and remains in custody, with his case expected to go to court today.
Phuket Immigration has also been notified of the offence, with a suggestion that the American’s visa be revoked. It’s understood he entered Thailand on March 24 on a 30-day tourist visa.
