Phuket police have seized nearly 50,000 methamphetamine pills in 3 arrests carried out on the island. The Phuket Express reports that the first arrest was a 42 year old man, named only as Pattanasak “Pok”, who was arrested in the sub-district of Talad Nuea, in possession of 213 pills.

When questioned by Phuket Provincial Police, Pok told officers he had bought the pills from 43-year-old Paradee “Bum”. Ms Paradee was arrested at her accommodation in Talad Nuea, where officers confiscated 2,688 methamphetamine pills. The woman told police she had purchased the pills from Mr Anon “Non”.

The investigation then led officers to a hotel on Chaofa Road in Talad Nuea, where they arrested 43-year-old Non and seized 46,400 meth pills.

In total, officers confiscated 49,000 methamphetamine pills, with an estimated street value of 8 million baht. The arrested three have been taken to Phuket City Police Station to be charged with illegal possession of Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell.
