A Russian woman, understood to be a short-stay tourist, has complained to Phuket Tourist Police after she got into a row with a staff member at a Patong bar. The Phuket Express reports that the woman sustained minor injuries in the altercation, which is understood to have taken place over the weekend.

According to the report, the argument happened at a bar on Bangla Road, but other details are limited. The woman reportedly got into an argument with a member of staff at a nightlife venue Phuket’s most infamous walking street. The name of the venue has not been released by police and the Russian woman’s name has been withheld at her request.

The police arrived at the scene of the altercation and were told by a member of staff that the Russian woman had started a verbal dispute which then became physical. Meanwhile, the Russian tourist claims the staff member attacked her.

The Phuket Express says Patong Police have launched an investigation and both women were taken in for further questioning.
