Police in Phuket are investigating after a teenage boy was shot in the early hours of yesterday, March 27.
The Phuket News reports that the incident took place near the Phuket Mining Museum, in the district of Kathu (along the back road that travels from Kathu to Koh Kaew).
Phongpipat Khamchumphu, deputy chief of Patong Police was alerted by staff from Patong Hospital at around 1.30am. Medical staff told police that a 16 year old boy had arrived with a gunshot wound to his left arm.
According to the victim, he was riding his motorbike in the vicinity of the Phuket Mining Museum when a man in a pickup truck approached and shot him. The truck then left, travelling in the direction of Koh Kaew.
The boy returned to his home and his mother rushed him to hospital.
Patong Police are now coordinating with the authorities in Kathu in order for Kathu Police to take over the investigation, as it happened in their area.
