An alleged serial killer, her ex-husband (also an ex-police officer) and her lawyer, have been indicted at the Criminal Court. All three were indicted on Tuesday, July 18, according to a Thai PBS World report.

Sararat “Am” Rangsiwuthaporn, her ex-husband, Vitoon Rangsiwuthaporn, and her lawyer, Tannicha Aeksuwannawattana, were indicted on charges of murder, robbery, and concealment of evidence. The trio are accused in the investigation into the April 14 murder of Siriporn Khanwong, in the sub-district of Ban Pong, Ratchaburi province.

Siriporn is one of Sararat’s alleged 15 poisoning victims (one of whom survived). The suspect is accused of acts of poisoning and attempted poisoning using cyanide. Prosecutors say she used the toxic substance in food, which was subsequently eaten by Siriporn, who then fell unconscious and died.

Sararat, who officers say had massive debts and was motivated by money, is also accused of stealing valuables belonging to Siriporn, including 50,000 baht in cash.

Other items allegedly stolen by her include a Louis Vuitton bag worth around 30,000 baht, several wallets, 18 lottery tickets, and 2 mobile phones. In total, the items stolen amount to around 154,000 baht in value, according to the report.

The suspect’s ex-husband, Vitoon, and her lawyer, Tannicha, are accused of being accomplices in helping Sararat evade justice by destroying or hiding evidence. Vitoon was fired from his position as deputy superintendent of Suan Phueng Police Station, in Ratchaburi province. Both he and Tannicha have been released on 100,000 baht bail.

Sararat was arrested on April 25 and is being held at Central Women’s Correctional Institution. She was around 4 months pregnant at the time of her arrest and has since had a miscarriage. In total, she’s accused of the fatal poisoning of 14 victims and the attempted murder of a fifteenth.
