Don’t look down… or maybe you should check before sitting down.
A homeowner in the Kathu district of Phuket got a very long, thick and slippery surprise when she found a huge python slithering out of her toilet. The Phuket Express reports that the woman, named only as Ms Gai, is warning other residents to be aware of the risks, particularly if located near lagoons and during the wet season.
Yes pythons, and other snakes, even very large ones, can make their way through the pipes and fid their way into your bathrooms, via the toilet. Some unfortunate people have even been interrupted by an unexpected ‘bite’, mid performance.
The woman alerted snake catchers, who came to the property, which is in a housing estate by a lagoon in Kathu. The team was able to retrieve the python from the toilet bowl and remove it from the property for a safe release (hopefully at a good distance!).
Pythons are non-venomous and will constrict their prey in order to eat it. You can find more information on the snakes found in Thailand HERE.
